Welcome back! Yesterday we saw some of what Apple has planned for their Apple devices, specifically tailored for developers. A massive update that came out was actually for their iPad, we now have the ability of not only coding / running our Swift code on our iPad, but we can now publish our apps to the App Store as well! This is a massive change that’s well worth talking about! Although this is really only focused around using Swift to publish your apps on your iPad, it’s still awesome to see how many developers will use this new software to develop apps on their iPad, rather than buying a separate machine to do so.

This specific update comes within their Swift playgrounds application, Swift Playground is an application developed by Apple to teach users how to use Swift, it’s essentially a tutorial based application, if you want to learn more about this application check out the link below:

What’s even cooler with this update is that we also have the ability of saving our projects on our iPad and even opening them up on Xcode on a Mac! That essentially gives the ability of starting an application on your iPad, then whenever you’re ready switching over to a Mac to get the benefits of Xcode, this is definitely a massive improvement! However, not everything is perfect.

Just because you can now code and deploy an app on the App Store doesn’t mean it’s a perfect setup, we are still limited in the Swift Playground app itself, causing massive differences between Swift Playground’s IDE and the Xcode IDE. I still believe this is a step in the right direction, we also have to appreciate the fact that this is essentially the first time Apple has ever allowed users to…
