This is what Apple uses Rust for
--
Welcome back! Apple is one of the most popular companies in the world, they use almost every single programming language out there, so let’s take a look at different projects Apple uses Rust with. Now, in order for me to find these projects I went over to their career page, searched up positions with Rust, and noted the projects I saw:
Let’s take a look at some of these projects!
Cloud Engineering
First up we have cloud engineering, this is one of the most popular programming related jobs right now. Apple uses Rust (in conjunction with the Google Cloud, iCloud, and AWS offerings) to develop clusters, this includes using Kubernetes, Docker, and other containerized solutions. Here are a few positions that required experience with Rust:
Robotic Engineering
Another way Apple uses Rust is for robotic engineering, these positions require people to use Rust (as well as C and C++) to program embedded frameworks for robotics! Here is a full requirements page for these types of projects:
Video Engineering
Another way Apple uses Rust is for video engineering, these projects require people to use Rust (as well as Python, Java, Golang, and other languages) to build out computer vision…
