These popular programming languages maybe extinct soon
Welcome back! I’ve been talking about some of the most popular programming languages and tutorials based on those languages, but how long will these programming languages be relevant? It’s no secret that many popular programming languages from decades ago are essentially extinct now, so let’s talk about some popular programming languages that could be extinct in the next couple of years. For this specific case I wanted to take a look at the TIOBE index, this is a chart that keeps track of the popularity of different languages, you can take a look at this index here:
Let’s take a look at some of the programming languages that have been going down year after year!
PHP
Starting off we have PHP, this is still a fairly popular general-purpose language mostly used for web development. It may not seem like this language is losing popularity, but if you take a look at the TIOBE index chart from their website it does show a massive decrease in popularity for this language:
