Welcome back! It’s been a few weeks since we talked about the different programming languages that massive companies use, now let’s take a look at what programming languages Instagram uses! The process of me finding these languages was pretty basic, I went to their career page, searched up engineering positions and noted the most popular languages I saw:

The most popular languages I saw required from Instagram were: Python, HTML / CSS, Javascript, SQL, R, and MATLAB, they also required experience with the following softwares / technologies: BI Tools (Tableau, PowerBI), Photoshop, Hive and Spark. First off we have Javascript, HTML and CSS, these are massively popular languages mostly used for web design. If there is any set of languages to learn on this list, it’s definitely these three. From almost every software engineering job from any company will pretty much involve these languages, so learning these languages will lead you to becoming a much more powerful programmer.

Python

This is one of the most popular languages right now, this language can be used for software engineering or data science. First off, I saw this language as a requirement in a ton of different positions from Instagram, so if you plan on applying at Instagram, learning Python will allow you to apply to a ton of jobs.
