Well, it looks like Python is getting a big update with VS Code, this specific update includes an update to the Python Extension, and there are tons of cool updates within this update! Here is a link to their blog explaining all of the details of this update:

Let’s talk about some of updates within this release!

Smart Selection

We now have the ability of utilizing smart selection, this new updates allows us to select Python code with our keyboard with fewer key presses now!

Improvements To Python Interpreters List

We also have some updates to the interpreters list as well, this new layout showcases our Python interpreters by type, making it a bit easier for us to identify those versions.

Anaconda Improvements

There have also been some improvements to anaconda, those of you who use that environment, you should see a bit more stability being added for the Anaconda users.
