Most popular programming language from 1965 to now!

Welcome back! I was scrolling through Reddit when a user posted about a video that showcases the most popular programming languages from 1965 to now! It’s always super interesting to see the trends throughout the past year or so, but being able to see the most popular programming languages from decades ago is very interesting, below is the video where you can see this list:

After looking through this video, I do want to highlight some of the interesting things I saw within this visualization. Starting off, it’s very clear that Fortran was the number one programming language for several years, almost being the “Python” of those early years, it wasn’t until the early 1980’s did Fortran lose its spot to Pascal:
