Welcome back! Let’s talk about some of the highest paying freelance websites this year! First off, any freelance website is great, what you bring to the table is the biggest differentiating factor on how much you’re going to make, let’s take a look at some data. Indeed.com, one of my favorite job websites ever, put out this article a few months ago talking about what the highest paying freelance websites are, the top ones they listed were:

  1. Web Designer
  2. Computer programmer
  3. Graphic designer
  4. Tutor
  5. Marketing specialist

Now that we have the preliminary stuff out of the way, let’s talk about the actual websites that may bring you some extra cash!


Starting off we have Toptal, a popular but very competitive freelancing website. This website essentially hires the top 3% of freelance talent and supplies them to their clients, this is a rough blueprint of how this website works:

The main benefit of this website is that there is less competition here, mostly because everyone can’t post a job, only the people who are essentially accepted into their website. Here are a few of their categories that they specialize in for programmers:

I would say this website is the best if you’re able to get into it, leading you to getting some of the highest rates for freelancing, it’s the hardest to begin but could lead you to more revenue due to less competition.


Next up we have Upwork.com, one of the most popular options out there for freelance programmers. This website makes it easy for both freelancers and companies / people to find work or find talent. Upwork isn’t only for programmers, there are tons of different categories that someone can freelance for, take a look at a few of the categories here:

Next up we have Freelancer.com, another massive website for freelance jobs. Much like Upwork, you can either list your freelance jobs or hire a freelancer, making it very easy to tap into their existing clients.

There are also a bunch of categories available with this website as well, let’s say you don’t want to program, well theres a bunch of other categories to sell your skills as well:

After looking at alot of reviews / forum posts for freelancing, a ton of people recommended this website, there have been over 52 million registered users and almost 20 million jobs posted!

Next up we have Fiverr, a massively popular freelancing website. This website allows you to freelance in almost anything you want, here are just a few categories they showcase on their home page:
