GitHub Copilot Is Here, & It’s Insane!

Welcome back! GitHub has just developed a brand new extension for Visual Studio Code, this specific extension is called GitHub Copilot! At first, when I saw this extension I didn’t think too much of it, but after reading about it i’m genuinely shocked, this is an insane add on to Visual Studio Code! At a high level, this extension pretty much will suggest either whole lines or entire functions right within your editor (in this case, Visual Studio Code), check out the example below:

In this case, the highlighted portion is the code that’s recommend by GitHub copilot

What’s even crazier than that is that GitHub teamed up with OpenAI to train billions of lines of code (that’s hosted on GitHub) for their recommendation system!
