Free tools every data scientist should use
Welcome back! Data science is an amazing field full of growth and potential, if you’re extremely new to data science, check out this article I wrote about creating your data science portfolio:
Now, let’s talk about some awesome free data science tools you should definitely know about!
Google Data Studio
Starting off, Google Data Studio is Google’s free offering to data visualization, but what if you already know a visualization tool? Well, the best thing about Google Data Studio is that the entire platform is hosted online, and since it’s part of Google’s ecosystem, it makes sharing the visualizations extremely easy. If you want to check out Google Data Studio, check out the link below:
AWS (Amazon Web Services)
Another tool that every data scientist should know about is AWS (Amazon Web Services), this is Amazon’s cloud offering. You maybe asking yourself “wait, isn’t AWS a paid service?”, and you’re right, but there are actually many free tiers for many AWS services. So, there are several different offerings from AWS, but there are still some very important tools within it for data scientists, check out the link below to learn more about this:
Spark
Another important tool that a data scientist should know about is Spark, this is an awesome tool for large-scale processing. Just like Hadoop, there are tons of data science positions that require Spark. If you want to learn more Spark, check out the link below:
Hadoop
Another extremely important tool that every data scientist should know about is Hadoop, this is a collection of different software utilities for distributed computing. I’ve seen many data science positions that required experience with Hadoop, if you want to learn more about this, check out the link below:
There you have it! Those are some of the best free tools every data scientist should know, do you plan on checking any of these tools out? I would love to hear your thoughts about this!
