Big Issue With GitHub
Welcome back! It looks like GitHub has another slight issue, this time, it’s with the security of many different repositories out there. Yesterday, a software engineer tweeted the following information:
From the tweet above, we can see that this user was able to find a massive widespread malware issue within Github, this specific malware has infected over 35,000 repositories, these projects range in functionality/languages, these also include projects that were built with Python, Golang, and even Javascript!
It looks like the pieces of code that are being maliciously added will attack the entire environment of the script, and send that information over to the attackers:
