Welcome back! R is a very powerful statistical language with some ability of building full fledged user controlled data apps as well (using RShiny), so let’s talk about some of my favorite free online courses to help you learn R!
As always, if you have any suggestions, thoughts or just want to connect, feel free to contact / follow me on Twitter! Also, below is a link to some of my favorite resources for learning programming, Python, R, Data Science, etc.
Here are some of my favorite courses, books and so much more. Most of these are affiliate links which help me create…
CodeAcademy R Course
Starting off, CodeAcademy is a staple in learning any new language, and their R course is no exception. First off, employees from Google, Nasa, Facebook and many other companies have taken courses from CodeAcademy, secondly, their R course is pretty extensive. This course breaks down the fundamentals with R, it eventually gets into many different statistical computations, and ends off with some more R programming and statistics practice!
edx Harvard R / Data Science Course
This course is an insane course in so many different ways. First off, I love edx, they are a great resource for many different free courses, secondly, this is a Harvard course which is awesome, and thirdly, you can actually get a paid certificate from this course which is pretty insane! Much like the other courses, this course focuses on the programming concepts within R, different packages to use (dplyr, etc.) and a bit of statistical methodology as well!
Coursera R Programming Course
Coursera also has their own course they’ve developed! This specific course is offered through John Hopkins University, this course also has over 20,000 ratings as well! This course offers over 57 hours of content, you can earn a shareable certificate and it’s offered in several different languages! If you’re a complete beginner with R, this is a very awesome place to start in my opinion!
edx Harvard Statistics and R Course
Another edx Harvard course! This one is very similar to the one mentioned above, but this course seems to hit on alot more statistics than the other courses mentioned. This, paired with other courses within this article can definitely help you become a better R programmer!
Udemy Free R Course
Lastly, Udemy is another huge online course platform, they also offer a very popular R course, this course has over 16 thousand ratings! This course offer over 4 hours of on-demand videos, it also covers a lot of the fundamental background you may need to understand how R works, the IDE, and how to handle big data.
DataCamp’s R Course
Honorable mention, we have DataCamp’s R course! Now it does seem like the first portion of this course is free, but DataCamp is a very good website i’ve relied on in the past, and I feel like it’s a decent honorable mention.
There you have it, hopefully you enjoyed this article! Let me know what your favorite free R courses are!
